Dress Model & another sewing project!

My last two dresses I made for my BFF's little sweetie...and I finally got a few pics. She is a very active 1 year old, so the pics are "action" shots! haha.

Here's the "pillowcase" dress I made out of my Heather Bailey fabric (my fav). She wore this as her Easter dress...how CA-Ute!

Here's the ruffle dress....with my poor choice of thread...but cute nonetheless! She is such a precious model!

Last, but not least, is the reversible shirt I made for my niece Isabella. I can't wait to see it on her. It was a bit tricky because I have never done pleats or anything reversible...so it was challenging for me.
A shot of the inside (not sure why i just didn't turn it inside out and take an actual pic, but whatever). :)
Here's a little better shot, against the yellow wall in my craft room. Her blond hair and blue eyes will POP with this shirt!!

Taylor Swift

Thanks to by super sister in-law... I was able to take Laynie to see Taylor Swift last week. Our seats were GREAT and we had a fabulous time!
I had been looking for something for Laynie to "reward" her for her WONDERFUL grades and her overall attitude. She is such a wonderful young lady and such a joy to be around!!!

Here's Laynie in our "box" seats before the concert.

Kelly Pickler opened for Taylor. She was very good and really full of energy!

Taylor had some amazing stage sets!! She put on a great show...I think she sang for over 3 hours!

My camera zoomed on Laynie's face, but you can see Taylor behind her. At one point in the concert Taylor showed up right in front of our section. It was so cool and people were shocked to see her just appear!!

Here she is singing in front of our section.

Another great set.
And another..
We had a great time. Thanks again Kendra for the hook-up!!
xoxo

Next Sewing Projects

You would think I have a bunch of little girls running around my house or something with all these little girl outfits I'm making! Instead I have a sweet adorable niece in San Antonio and some precious neighbors who are all going to benefit from my sewing obsession over the next month.

Here are my latest PDF pattern finds:

These shorts are super cute and I figure since I have made pants before, I can probably handle some shorts! We'll see.

This little outfit is ADORable! I have made a top similar to this one, and the pants should be "easy" for me as well.... again, we'll see! :)
So now to pick out cute fabric and start sewing...yippee!!

Clint's Birthday!

I'm a few weeks behind on this post!!

My sweet hubby turned 38 this year....wowie, wow, wow!! We celebrated with friends and family all weekend long! The kids and I got him some parts for his boat. Not all that exciting of a gift, but one that he asked for.
Kendra (also celebrating her birthday..it's the 25th of Feb) and Clint.
Lots of hot air!! tee hee hee.
Clint's parents got him sailing gloves! Another on Clint's "wish" list this year!
Clint and his Dad playing ping-pong on the Wii.
For our Bible study group I made an Italian Cream cake. It was yummy! Grace and Blake got to help blow out the candles. :)
Happy Birthday honey!! We love you SOoooooo much!!!!!!!

Sew Crazy!

I have REALLY enjoyed my new sewing machine!! I'm not a SUPER sewer yet...but I hope to be one day! I have been making a lot of cute little girly things lately for my BFF's daughter Caroline. Today happens to be her 1st birthday, so last night I whipped up this little number....

Some call them "pillowcase" dresses, but I just call this one CAutE!!!!! I LURVE this fabric by Heather Bailey (my all time fav fabric person). I wish we had more stores that carried her line here in Okie. I think I ordered both of these online.

I'm getting better with my straight stitching. Used to be that my straight line would have a bit of a "curve" to it... so I was proud of myself for perfecting that skill...pretty basic, I know!

Love the cute gathering around the neck...and the cute tie on the side. Still thinking about shortening the tie, but we'll see how it looks on before I start cutting!!

One Year Ago Today

I can't believe that it's been a whole year since our sweet Bruce was taken from us. He's 2 now... almost 3. I can remember like it was yesterday the feeling I felt when I put him in the carseat one last time and told him goodbye with tears streaming down my face. I could tell by the look on his face that he didn't want to go. That made it even harder.
For days and weeks after, I couldn't say his name or recall a memory without breaking down in tears.
He was such a blessing to our family. We loved him so very much!
I pray all the time that he is happy, healthy and most of all LOVED very much!! We miss him all the time and can now look back with smiles on our faces and remember what wonderful times we had with him. We are so grateful that the Lord put him in our lives to love and take care of. I may not always understand why he had to go... but I try not to focus on that so much.... but more on the love that we had for him and the times we shared.
We love you Bruce and we always will!!

Bathroom Make Over!

*Note: My computer at home is not my friend! Example: the pictures are backwards and it wont let me move them around like I usually am able to! UGH
Moving on.
The kids bathroom has always been such a BLAH place. Painted with this grey that nothing goes with...it was just a boring place to be!
Before we start on our kitchen, I thought it would be good to get our "feet wet" with this bathroom upstairs.
