Last night we celebrated Clint's Dads birthday and went bowling. It was a lot of fun! I never knew we had some bowling pros in the family! We need to start our own league!

Our Scooter Gang
Laynie and Blake decided to spend their allowance and each buy a scooter. Blake got his a few days ago, and Laynie went last night and got hers. They are pretty fun, but a little too fast for kids (i think). Laynie's is bigger and seems easier to control. They both had fun riding them for the first time last night! Blake has his "scooter gang" look on his face!

I would say it's rustic
I have decided that our house is going to be a bit rustic. From the all cedar ceiling in the living room to the brick/wood beam stairs... it really is starting to get that cozy, rustic feel. The wood beams that are the stairs (not the second set, they will be carpet) are from an old barn. They are really heavy and solid! We are going to stain them darker and there will be an iron railing as well. It's all turning out really beautiful! The rock is coming along nicely. They are almost done with the front. Then it's on to the fireplace inside and the fountain that we are building in the entry. We are hoping to start sheet rocking it in about 2 weeks!

Hair Everywhere!
Blake got a new summer haircut a few weeks ago. Last night we thought, since it was so short now, that we could just cut it ourselves. So, we started shaving... and before you knew it... Blake had a hairy back! We didn't realize how much hair we had cut off! Not to worry, it looks just as good as a $10 haircut!

Rock!!
The rock is coming along nicely! It rained pretty hard last night and was still raining this morning, so I was afraid they wouldn't be out there working today... but the sun came out!! I went out there a couple of hours ago and they were all hard at work... the brick layers, the rock layers, the electricians and the plumbers!!! I'm so excited! It's really a lot of fun seeing everything going up! Today the electricians started to put in the wiring for the lights in the living room and the hall, etc... even that was REALLY fun to see! I know I'm weird... but if you have ever built your own house, you would know what I'm talking about!!

The Kido's
Laynie and Blake are out of school! Yippee! No more homework! They go to daycare during the day, but they have a lot planned for the kids all summer. I believe they go on two field trips a week!
The kids are really excited about the house, they always want to go over there and see the progress! They are like me. I have most of the basics for Blake's bedroom figured out. His was easy! I thought it would be fun for Laynie to pick most of hers out herself... so we will start on that soon!
Blake's birthday party is this weekend at a really cool laser tag place in Yukon. It's website is www.greatexperiencesoklahoma.com . I know he's really excited!
I will post pictures, etc.. after the weekend.
Bring on the Bricks!
They started bricking the house yesterday! It was so cool to see the brick go on. When it was sitting in the front yard in one big pile, it was really hard to see what it looked like. I was a bit nervous that it was not going to be what I was expecting, but it looks great.
The plumbers are all done and the electricians are working hard. They delivered our living room and screen porch fireplaces yesterday. Clint says I need to pick out rock this week. I think I have been doing pretty good at the "picking out" part. Sometimes it's overwhelming, but for the most part it's been okay (so far).
