Addicted?

Is addicted too strong of a word to use? I looked it up on Wikipedia and it says:
"In medical terminology, addiction is a state in which the body relies on a substance for normal functioning and develops physical dependence". Now, I don't think that my body relies on sweet tea from Johnnie's, Taco Mayo or Sonic...sometimes it does feel that way though. I think I just have a bond with sweet tea. Like when I was little, that's all we drank at dinner time...and that's all my Dad ever seemed to drink. So, maybe that's why I have an "addiction" to sweet tea. Whatever the reason.

What in the World?

I don't know about all of you...but last night's premier of Desperate Housewives left me wondering "what in the world was that all about"?! I thought it was just a "flash forward" or something...but then, I realized...NOPE.

I think I may have to take it off my Fall line-up!

Blake's Battle of the Bands

Blake had the battle of the bands on Sunday. He did SO good! I think it's the best I have seen him play! We were so proud of him!

Warning!

Sexy, isn't it? Well this is what happens when you turn 29! Just kidding. This is what happens when you get an eye infection from wearing your contacts all the time. I guess all those times of ignoring my eye doctor when he said NOT to wear them 100% of the time is coming back to bite me....... right in the EYE!
When I go outside the brightness is overwhelming and my eyes start to water and squint like crazy, so I had to go back to the doctor and see if he had anything that would help.
Those crazy things are what he gave me! Thanks doc!

Fall, Allergies...and loss of sight!

Seriously, I swear this is all happening because I turned 29 last week! God is a real comedian!
So Monday rolled around and I started coughing and started to feel that dreaded drainage feeling in my throat...cool weather = allergies in my house! So now dealing with that...and the ever so lovely "plumbing issues" that all women face....and to top it off I think my eye is going to pop out of my head!
Yesterday I noticed that my eye was really irritated. Thought maybe my contact was scratched or something, but oh...no such luck. It got WORSE and I went to the Dr. today. He said I am having an allergic reaction to something....great. It would have been nice if he would have said what it was from, so I would stay away from that from now on, but no....
So here I am, wearing my glasses that have a really weak prescription, with a VERY teary eye..that burns and is very sensitive to light...and my WONDERFUL husband is having to drive me around.
All because I turned 29!!

1st Craft Show Experience

Well the "Fall Into the Holidays" Craft Show last Saturday was interesting. After getting home and to bed at 12:30am from the Fair (see previous post)...I got up at 5am and Kendra and I headed to Stillwater to the show.

My MIL, Ruth, was our "ground crew" and really helped us out A BUNCH! We got there and set everything up without any troubles. Looking around we figured they wouldn't know what to do with us "city" girls. We were right. We sat and swatted flies for 9 HOURS and didn't sell a thing. No, not ONE SINGLE diaper cake! Not because they weren't "Cute"...I heard that a trillion times, but I believe people had sticker shock. Our crowd was mostly over the age of 50 and I was informed that maybe making a cake out of "depends" or "pantie-liners" would be a good idea.
Seriously, I had an old lady tell me that!

Kendra (from Fourteen Beads) sold a few things, but not enough to make us sign up now for next year!
Oh, and to make everything just that much funnier....we had to listen to, "Would you like to smell? Pomegranate is our scent" about 9 TRILLION times. The lady across from us sold these very interesting looking handmade candles. She held that darn thing in her hand ALL day long, shoving it in peoples faces as they walked by!
It was priceless!

Overall it was a good learning experience. We learned not to go back to Cowtown for a craft show!

Carnie's Everywhere!

Oh, gotta love the Oklahoma State Fair! The one time a year when people watching is at it's finest! From high-heels with cut-offs to mullets and a beer gut....it's amazing.

Kerri (my new BFF) and I took the kids to see High School Musical on Ice at the fair (courtesy of Kendra, thanks!!) last Friday. We got there early so the kids could ride rides and eat fair food.
After pigging out on corn dogs the size of my leg (and at the cost of a new pair of shoes)...we headed over to watch Troy swoon over Gabriella in the Disney on Ice tour. I will admit, it was cute...and fun to watch with my friend Kerri, who can get my jokes...and even thinks they are funny!
We all had a great time!

Getting OLD!

Well today is my 29th Birthday....wow, only one more year I get to say I'm in my 20's!
I have started to notice some things...about getting older... and I thought I would share.

I know I'm getting older because..

1. It took me 2 deep breaths to blow out my candles last night!

2. I had a dream that Bounce was on sale at Wal-Mart for really cheap.

3. I would rather stay home on my birthday and have pizza then go do something.

4. I have 3 grey hairs

5. I have not had an "adult" beverage in ages

6. I have not been out to a place (bar) where they sell "adult" beverages in a few years!

7. My favorite time of day is 8pm because that's when my house is totally quiet

8. I get up before 10:30am on the weekends :(

9. I'm starting to understand why people buy a minivan (but still I vow not to)

10.I feel like it's a WONDERFUL day when no food or drink gets spilled all over the floor, no noses are running, there are no poop blow-outs!

11. Bargain shopping and clothes shopping for the kids is a lot of fun.

12. Shopping for myself is stressful

13. I talk freely and openly about the poop issues my 15 month old has...to anyone who listens. (well I'm a little discreet about it)

I think that's it...at least for now. THANK GOODNESS!

Birthday Breakfast

Laynie turns 12 today! This morning we had Birthday french toast. It was very yummie and Laynie blew out 12 candles on hers.
Tonight we are going to Mimi and Grands for a b-day celebration.
I will post more pics later.
Eww... and I turn 29 tomorrow! Good gracious where has time gone?

I'm BACK!

I think if my head wasn't attached, I would probably misplace it! It's been so long since I have blogged, but for good reason (or, at least I think so).

Our trip to South Padre was a blast. Jr. wasn't doing so good at first, but it was mainly just the nights. He LOVED the beach! He played in the sand and was a little too fearless with the water. He even got a cute little tan.
Clint and Jimmy did GREAT in their race. They came in 8th place and we were so proud of them. Clint is just itching to get back out there and do another race.
Ruth and I really enjoyed laying on the beach and just relaxing! We caught up on all of our gossip magazine reading, and had a great time.

The weather was wonderful. We had the typical humid days (most) but the breeze was so nice and cool that you hardly noticed the humidity. I think I used my hair dryer once the whole week! My face got a break too...no makeup for 10 days was wonderful. It's been hard to get back to actually putting on makeup for work now.
So we are back in the swing of things at home now. Laynie's birthday is Wednesday and mine is Thursday...yee haw. Kendra and I have a craft show in Stillwater this weekend. For those of you in the area, it's going to be at the Payne County Expo Hall on Saturday the 13th from 9am-6pm. Come out and see us!
The kids are back in school and back in a "homework routine". I will say that with a little one running around, it makes it a little harder to sit down and do homework with the kids. Oh well, we still manage to help them and occupy Jr at the same time. Multitasking is a beautiful thing!
Here are a few pics from Padre...xoxo
