Sex and the City Movie!

I'm SO excited! I think I'm going to watch all of the seasons on DVD between now and Friday!

Tackle it Tuesday!

Well I have not totally tackled it yet, but we have been MOVING all weekend! We started on Thursday and have not slowed down! I have had help from my wonderful sister in-law, Kendra (Fourteen Beads)... and my hardworking husband! We have it now to where it is livable..but it's still got a long way to go! We have SO MUCH STUFF, I just dont have a place for all of it. We have decided that the bigger space you have the more crap you accumulate to fill it!
So far I just have the before pictures, but I will get to the after very soon! Stay tuned!

Doddie's 85th Birthday & family visit!

This past weekend we celebrated Doddie's (my Grandpa) 85th birthday! Angie, Gus & the kids drove up on Friday and Mom flew in that night to surprise Doddie. His party was at the Czech hall in Yukon on Saturday night...then we had a cookout at Aunt Carolyn's on Sunday. It was a lot of fun and Izzy and Luke kept us on our toes the whole time!

Everyone at Aunt Carolyn's.

Mother's Day part 2

So later Friday night, before dinner, the kids were just dying to give me my Mother's Day gifts. This first picture shows the cards that they painted and the vase Laynie painted that had handmade clay roses in it. She did such a wonderful job! They were so proud and so was I! Of course I shed a tear or two at all the thoughtful things they said.

The kids picked out a James Avery charm for my charm bracelet. It said, "MOM". I was so touched and honored that they would think of me in that way. It really was the best gift I could have received.
Later that night I thought it would be fun to take the kids to Pole Position Raceway. It's an indoor race car (go cart) track. I was so mad because my batteries died right after we got there. I only got this picture of the gang watching the safety video.. and Laynie took the other picture of me in my helmet before our "adult" race. Needless to say, you should NEVER go race little cars...wearing a tight, hot, smothering helmet...right after you overdose on chips and salsa! We had just had Mexican food for dinner, and by the 2nd lap (of 11) I was ready to pull into the pit and call it quits! I kept going and finished the race, yes I got last place, but oh well...

I had left Blake for about 5 min in his room to go pick out a game for all of us to play, and when I came back I found him like this.....
All of that racing wears a boy out!

My Mother's Day

I know, I know... I look swollen and half asleep! BUT to my defence it was early in the morning and I didn't have any eye makeup or lipstick on yet!!

My SWEET step-son Blake made me this really nice coaster. He said he stamped the cross on it and put padded circles on the back. He made a very sweet card and answered questions on a page titled "My Mom is Special". I'm trying to figure out how to post it on here, but it's a pdf file.
Anyway, he really surprised me. I had seen the gift wrapped in his bag but just assumed it was for his Mom. So I was so happy when he gave it to me.
He really made my day!
Laynie said she has something for me too, but I think she's waiting until tonight.

Rain, Rain Go Away!

This was the view from our upstairs playroom on Wednesday! It rained, and rained, and rained! Actually, at one point, the kids and I were in our storage closet under the stairs. There were tornado's that were touching down all around where we live. Usually I just tell Rick Mitchell to shut it, but that night I decided to listen to him. Thank goodness none of my shows were on 4, 5, or 9 that night! Pet peeve, when the weather man stays on ALL night long talking about a storm that has left the vicinity hours before. Then you miss all of your shows because some random town in the "panhandle" of Oklahoma is getting some rain!! Grrrr Rick Mitchell!!

Moving Again!

As most of you have heard...we are moving. Yes, I'm very sad and wish that we didn't have to, but it's the right thing to do right now while the housing market is the way it is.

So, we are going from this....

To this....
We call it the "treehouse". It was built in the 70's, has 4 bedrooms, 2 living, 2 dining, 2 1/2 bath and is 2440 sq feet. The deck you see on the 2nd level has a hot tub and sauna on it. The house really has been taken care of. It has a lot of 70's personality. Not great curb appeal, but it works for us. It's in a great neighborhood in North Edmond and is still in the Edmond school district we want. We are supposed to move the week of the 19th, and that's only 2 weeks away! We have not packed one single thing. I guess that's partially because I don't want to move from our dream house, but I will kick it in high gear sooner-or-later and get packed.
This was a good decision that Clint made for our family, for the business (Ellis Homes) and for the future. We WILL build again, probably the same house, but for now we will make the "treehouse" our home!

Our New Tenants

In the wood surrounding our garage doors we noticed a cute little bird making a nest in one of the grooves. Before we knew it there were tiny little peeps coming from the nest. I got on a chair and found these little baby birds all snuggled up together in the nest. So cute!!

Foster Care Update!

Yesterday DHS was back out to the house to finish up our home study. They completed all the questioning and took a tour of the house. I think the only thing we lacked was a fire extinguisher.
Tomorrow starts our 5 week foster parenting class. It's EVERY Saturday from 10am-5pm!! I am trying to stay positive about it, but really I am going to be kicking and screaming!
So we'll see tomorrow what this is going to be like.
After our class ends and our home study is reviewed, they will place a child with us. Probably around the middle to end of June.
Stay tuned!

Busy week!

Last night Laynie had her 5th grade performance. This time of year is really fun for the 5th graders because they get to start doing a lot of "end of year" things. I can't believe little Laynie will be in Jr. High next year! That's just crazy!
They performed to "Footloose". Clint, Blake & I missed her dance because it was last and we had to leave early for a baseball game.
They boys got their 1st win of the season last night. They were super excited! We had three games back-to-back this week...and we will have 2 next week! Watching them wouldn't be so bad if the wind didn't blow 50mph. I ended up with crunchy gum, dirt in my purse, and muddy iced tea! NO FUN!
