Please STOP the Insanity!!

I mean, really? Really do we have to sit through another week of Cloris acting a fool? COME ON AMERICA! It's a train wreck every week. I will give props to the judges for actually NOT blowing smoke up her granny panties another week. They actually said they are sad that Toni left for "this". HELLO? YES, we know!! Too bad that there are many women over 50 out there watching and voting for this lady. I know...i know...it's great that she is over 80 and can still do these things...but lets give her a high-five for it and move on!

On to the other.... Susan! Good grief girl...get your head OUT of the clouds (and put down those pain killers) and actually learn the moves. Did you guys see her in the group dance? I tried not to watch, but it's like driving by a car wreck...you just have to look. She forgot almost every move! Not to mention in her individual dance where she looked like she was in S-L-O-W motion! Get this girl back to her role on daytime!

As for my fav's... Brooke and Derrick...they got jipped! I thought it was sexy and smooth...regardless of her bad foot, she did great! They are still my fav's.

My New Find

I found this fab nightstand on Craigslist today and I can't wait to get it! It was only $15 and I plan on painting it and putting it in Laynie's room. SO CUTE!

Upgrade!

So here they are in all their glory...I went to Lowes last night and looked at the GE washer and dryer in my previous post. They weren't all that great. Of course I had to go look at the really nice models and decide that I needed something closer to those! I found a happy medium...the Whirlpool Cabrio. I can't wait to get these beauties in my house and start washing away!!

Here is my first attempt at curtains. I think they turned out well considering I just eyeballed it.

I think they look funny because the whole room is stark white. That's my next project...to paint the walls a cream color like the one in the background of the curtains.

Fab Find!

The other day I decided to stop by the Hope Center. It's like the Salvation Army or Goodwill, but only closer to my house.
I found the most fantastic chandelier for $3!!!!! I was so excited! I wanted something for over my kitchen table, but never messed with looking for something. It was sent straight from Heaven!

Obviously it's not totally done...it needs more light bulbs, and something done with the white covers.
I should have taken a before picture...since it was a bright red color and only semi-painted. I decided to go with turquoise since my kitchen is red and I love that combo! Now I have to start incorporating turquoise into my kitchen in other ways. I think I will make a valance for my window above my sink. I love both of these fabrics...so maybe I will go with one of them.

My New Nephew

My sister had her 3rd little one on the 14th. His name is Matthias David. He's so cute, but I don't think he looks like Izzy or Luke. She is recovering well, just a little on the exhausted side! I can't wait to get to San Antonio to meet him!

Laundry Room Makeover!

I was inspired by Joy over at the "Joys of Home" blog to dress up my VERY sad laundry room. I went to Hancock Fabrics last night to browse their 50% off designer fabrics. I was about to give up when out of the corner of my eye I saw this FUN fabric...
I am hoping to make some cute curtains out of it and really spruce up the room. Maybe even paint it a nice shade of creme. We'll see. I'll keep you "posted".

DWTS

Is it just me, or is Cloris starting to get on your nerves? I mean, the first 2 shows she was funny... being silly with the judges and making us laugh with her one-liners, but now I'm ready to move on. Last night I saw more leg lifting from her then I needed. It's great that she can do that and not score herself a trip to the ER, but really? And her boobs, get those girls under control. I'm totally worried she will flop out one of these shows. I hate to say, but I'm hoping that she goes home tonight! Time to get serious!


Now on to my favorite couple. First off, I hope I can be 1/4 as hot as Brooke after 3 kids! She is just gorgeous and that girl can dance! Every week she pulls out 8 & 9's and even a 10 last week! Derrick is always my fav...I decided last night that he is the twin of Kevin Bacon! I'm cheering them on!!

My new BFF appliance!

This is the BEST thing I have purchased in a LONG time! It's a rechargeable vacuum. It's small, lightweight, and really does pick up a lot. I have always said that I would vacuum every day if I had one that was easy to handle! This is great. I now vacuum every chance I get! Not that my house is a total mess...but there is always something to sweep up. Especially with a 17 mth old running around!

Pumpkin Patch

Friday we went with our wonderful neighbors to the Parkhurst Pumpkin Patch. It was a lot of fun. There were animals for the kids to pet, a corn field maze, big bales of hay to play on..and, of course, pumpkins.

"Estate" Sale?

This weekend my friend Kerri and I decided to go check out some neighborhood garage sales. When we left our neighborhood we saw a pink Estate Sale sign so we decided to follow it. We love Estate sales, and there are some really nice houses to the North of us...and that's the direction it was pointing.
We drove and drove...about 5 miles and then at one intersection there was another sign, but it was turned by the wind and wasn't pointing to the exact direction. So we decided to continue North...wrong way.
We ended up (25 min after we started this hunt) finding the rode. As we were pulling in, I said to Kerri, "Trailer houses cant have Estate Sale's, can they?"
To our disbelief, this is what we found!!!

Oh What a Night!

I mean, seriously? I think I had what feels like 30 minutes of sleep last night!

I went to bed around 10:30pm.

Woke up at 12:00am to the WORST SKUNK SMELL EVER!!! I rolled over and lovingly smacked Clint and said...."Honey, I think there is a skunk in our room". Of course he thought I was having one of my "night terrors"...but he smelled it too! It was so horrific! He had opened the bathroom windows in our bathroom and the kids'. That's how that nasty rodent was getting his juices in our house!

I really think it was the worst skunk smell I have ever encountered. Like he just came in our house, sprayed from wall-to-wall, and then left.

I couldn't get over it. I tried to hide my head under the covers, but that didn't work. I kept getting all claustrophobic...so I had to resort to just dealing with it. Easier said then done. I was only 1/2 asleep from then on.

At 5am, Jr. decided he would cry for more milk/pediasure. I was already awake anyway, so I obliged!

This morning I feel like I could fall over. I got up and swore that I would find Pepe La Pew in my house somewhere, but nope...just his nasty leftovers!

I didn't go by there at lunch, but I'm hoping that the smell has cleared out. Darn you! Pepe La Pew!

If Only!

Oh, if only I could sew! Not just pillows, or embellished onesies....but REALLY sew! Oh the sewing I would do...
Curtains, quilts, clothes...just to name a few! I found this site, Fat Quarter Shop, and fell in LUV with this Ava Rose fabric! How beautiful! Not that Clint would really LUV seeing roses all over the house...but Oh to do a little girls room in this fabric! I guess for now I will just admire from afar!

Organize!

I'm always looking for cool, practical, unique ways to stay organized! I came across this idea for an "Idea Rolodex" on Domestic Chicky's blog. I JUST LOVE the cute, crafty way she organized everything from "Things to do- Summer" to "Gift Ideas". I'm not sure if I can carve out enough time to get it done, but Oh how I would LUV to!
