Crafty Sister in-law

My sister in-law, Kendra, has started a new website called Fourteen Beads. She hand rolls these wonderful paper beads and mixes them with fabulous beads to make very chic necklace sets.

Her prices are great too! Check out her website.... and hurry so you can have your Mother's Day gift ordered in time!

DHS Home Study

Last night we had DHS out at the house again. This was the second part of our home study. She asked us questions about our childhood, about our parents, and interviewed Laynie and Blake.
It went well, but we aren't finished yet. She comes back out next week to finish up the questions.
We start our classes next Saturday! That's ALL day (9to5) for 5 wks! That's a LOT of info. Hopefully we get a nice teacher that doesn't keep us until 5!
Anyway, we have a ways to go but should be done with everything by the first week of June.

10togive.org

We are really getting up and running with 10togive.org! I'm so proud of Clint! You can really tell that this project is what he's supposed to be doing. He and I are a lot alike when it comes to giving. If I could make it my "job", I would!

Last night Clint and Randy met with the web guy to talk about the design for the website. It will be along the same lines as Donorschoose.org. They say it will be up around the 1st of August! There is a lot to do until then, but we are keeping up a great pace.

Clint and I met with some people from our church, LifeChurch.TV, on Monday and pitched the idea of 10togive.org "partnering up" with Life Reach and Life Missions to provide a "filter" for giving and receiving.

They thought it was an awesome idea.

I was able to get an attorney from Crowe Dunlevy to do our legal work pro-bono. Thanks be to God!!

So anyway, we are just chugging right along! Take a peak at the 10togive.org website and see what it's all about! If you would like to help out and donate to our new venture (a non-profit, tax write off) just contact me at kathleen@10togive.org ! What a blessing that would be!

Our San Antonio Trip

We had a lot of fun in San Antonio this weekend. We left OKC Thursday around noon and stayed at my sisters house that night. The rest of the weekend we stayed at the Westin La Cantera. It was really nice! My Mom works there and made the stay even nicer for us! (Thanks Mom)

We enjoyed a really nice, romantic dinner at the hotel for our 2nd anniversary and had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne waiting for us when we got back to our room!

Painting Izzy's fingernails. She thought this was the coolest thing ever. She had never had her nails painted before! Poor girl! :)
Clint and I were LOBSTERS after we layed out by the pool on Saturday! The sun was hot but the breeze was very nice so it was hard to tell that you were getting burned.
Uncle Clint and Izzy making funny faces!
Clint and I at the hotel

This sweet video is of Izzy singing the "Barney Song" to me! She is so darn cute!

Wordless Wednesday

2 years ago this Saturday!

Ahhhh.....relax!

I can feel it now....light breeze, warm sun, cool pina colada & my skin going from "Casper" to something more tropical!
Clint and I are heading to San Antonio on Thursday to see my family and to spend time at the Westin La Cantera for our 2nd wedding anniversary. I'm so excited! The hotel is beautiful and the view is unreal!
I talked to my Mom last week and she said the temp has been in the 90's! AMEN! I'm ready to get out of this 50 one day, 75 the next and wind that is just HELL on your hair!

So, the traditional gift for your 2nd anniversary is cotton. What in the world could I get for Clint that is useful...and cotton. NO, not underwear or a robe! This will take some thinking and I'm running out of days! So...if any of you blog readers could help out, leave a comment on what a good "man" gift for cotton would be, that would be fantastic!

Wordless Wednesday- Picture of the decade

The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. Little Samuel's mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta. She knew of Dr. Bruner's remarkable surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb.
During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. As Dr.Bruner completed the surgery on Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger. Dr.Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it was the most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant during the procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile.
