Come on 2009!!

Is it bad to say I'm ready for 2009 and it's only June? I mean, this year has been a doosie!
First with the housing market sending Clint's business on a roller coaster ride (not the fun, exciting, lets go on it 25 times kind either). Then with the decision to sell our wonderful house that we put our heart into building! That along with a lot of tears, denial, and sleepless nights.
The "great" news that we have sold our house...and so we moved into the "treehouse". 2 days before closing, the family backs out....so now it sits, empty.
A few weeks ago Clint gets into a wreck, some 80 yr old man runs a stop sign and smashes into the back of his car. Thank God that he was not hurt!
He got his car back about a week ago and since then....he got a flat tire (ok, so he put on the spare)...then yesterday he calls and got another flat (this time has no spare, so he has to leave it overnight). This morning he went to put a spare on it and finds it has been keyed!

All I can say is, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.
Proverbs 3, 5-6

Foster Care Update!

This Saturday is our last "training" class to become Foster Parents. We will be happy to have the classes over with and our Saturday's back. I talked with our case worker today and she said it will probably be sometime in July when everything is done.

Blake's 8th Birthday

Monday night we celebrated Blake's 8th b-day! We cooked out and enjoyed time with family! We got Blake a new skateboard ramp! It's hard to watch him practice on it because there is a lot of falling, but he's getting really good at it.
Aunt Kendra & Uncle Trent got him a gift card to Pole Position Raceway. He LOVES that place. Mimi and Grand got him a new electric guitar and a new acoustic guitar!

Blake and his skate ramp.

Kendra, Blake & Laynie playing catch with Trent
Blake blowing out his #8 candle.

Blake's first attempt at the ramp! Pretty good! I can't even get on the skateboard and stay standing!

The first tumble. You can here the big sister in the background laughing!

Garage Sale!

This weekend was just full of FUN! ;)
On Saturday we woke up at 6:15 to go run our garage sale at the "old" house. I never knew how much fun getting rid of random crap could be! We made over $750!! We had some great "big ticket" items, so that helped...but either way.
It felt good to get rid of stuff that just took up room! Stuff we never used, wore, or played with!
I think we are going to have another one next weekend! Last night as I was arranging the kids rooms, I found a lot more stuff that we could sell. Stuff that the kids never use or play with.
That goes for me too. I'm sure I could clean out my closet, kitchen, bathroom, etc.
So we'll see.
Other then our money-making garage sale, we had to go to our Foster Care class. It was our last full day of class. Our last one is this Saturday until 1. It went by fast and really wasn't all that bad. So it will be another month before we get our first child.

Last night, Ruth came over and "helped" me decorate the house. I LOVE what she did with the bedroom. I will take some pictures tonight to share.
We are having a birthday celebration for Ruth and Blake tonight. Blake turned 8 yesterday!
Anyway, that was our fun-filled weekend!

Sex and the City Movie!

I'm SO excited! I think I'm going to watch all of the seasons on DVD between now and Friday!

Tackle it Tuesday!

Well I have not totally tackled it yet, but we have been MOVING all weekend! We started on Thursday and have not slowed down! I have had help from my wonderful sister in-law, Kendra (Fourteen Beads)... and my hardworking husband! We have it now to where it is livable..but it's still got a long way to go! We have SO MUCH STUFF, I just dont have a place for all of it. We have decided that the bigger space you have the more crap you accumulate to fill it!
So far I just have the before pictures, but I will get to the after very soon! Stay tuned!

Doddie's 85th Birthday & family visit!

This past weekend we celebrated Doddie's (my Grandpa) 85th birthday! Angie, Gus & the kids drove up on Friday and Mom flew in that night to surprise Doddie. His party was at the Czech hall in Yukon on Saturday night...then we had a cookout at Aunt Carolyn's on Sunday. It was a lot of fun and Izzy and Luke kept us on our toes the whole time!
