Clint and I are really looking forward to our trip. We leave this Saturday for San Antonio for 3 days then on to Padre for a week! The race is over Labor Day weekend and we come back on the 1st. I think the only thing about taking Jr. that I'm nervous about is the car ride and sleeping! I finally bought a pack and play yesterday, so we will be playing in it this week to get him used to it. He takes naps in one at daycare, so hopefully he will be just fine.

Gearing Up!
Our Weekend
So this weekend we wanted to take the kids and do something fun...and they picked the Omniplex!! After Jr.'s nap on Saturday we loaded up and headed off to expand our knowledge of the Science world. The Omniplex has been around since I was a kid and it has only gotten better. The kids really had a good time and Jr. was great. He just sat in his stroller and took it all in.

Puke, Pox & Ear Infections...OH MY!
Where do I begin? Well, lets start out by saying that our sweet little "Jr." starting feeling sickly on Saturday and turned into "not-so-sweet" Jr.
Poor baby was not feeling good at all and there was nothing we could do to make him feel better.
I had already made him a doc appointment for Monday for a check-up and now it was a good thing since he was feeling bad.
On Sunday I woke up feeling a little "icky" to say the least. I blew it off and took some sinus medicine and kept on trucking. On Monday morning I was going downhill fast. I had body aches...and just felt really bad. Jr. was still feeling bad too, so he and I stayed home together feeling miserable! By 1:30 it was time to leave for his appointment. I still felt awful, but I really wanted to go and meet with his doc and ask some minor questions I had. Clint went with me and we drove (I drove) my car.
We got on the highway (mind you it's a good 10 min from our house to the highway) and I started feeling really bad...like sick bad....like I better pull over bad....NOW.
So I informed Clint that I felt like he should drive. I started to exit the highway when it happened...."it" meaning that I puked all over myself. Not just myself but the steering wheel, the dash, everything...covered...in....puke. It was a sight to see. All the while Clint is having a heart attack because we were still exiting off the highway. I managed to bring the car to a safe stop and turn my hazards on. I got out, took all my close off and got back in the car. Poor Jr., he was totally unaware of what just transpired. I guess that was a good thing!
So, since I was now sitting in the passenger seat totally NAKED and my puke covered clothes were in the back....Clint had to turn around and take me home. All of this, and our doc appointment for Jr. was in 15 min!
I got home and got in bed and Clint took Jr. to the doc....to discover he has a bad ear infection.
On his way home he picked Blake up from the YMCA... in the meantime, Beckie dropped Laynie off at our house and informed me that she thought Blake may have chicken pox but that she thought that it was just chiggers! So I called Clint to tell him...and when Blake got home, sure enough, it was chicken pox. So now we have to quarantine him away from Jr. (who he has now been in contact with for the past few hours since being picked up from the YMCA). Come to find out, Jr. has not been vaccinated for the chicken pox yet.
So, now we sit and wait....and watch.... for the first signs of chicken pox. I have been praying like crazy that he doesn't get them by some wonderful act of God!
We leave next week for Padre for 10 days and chicken pox have not been scheduled into our event calendar!
So that has been my week thus far! Puke, Pox, and ear infections.

Jr.
Finally licensed...and our first placement!
So, this is a picture of me taken over the past few days! Last Friday (the 1st) we met with DHS to sign our "contract" for Foster Care. That was around 2pm. After we were done, I went to Wal-Mart to do a little shopping. Boy was I glad to be there when, at 2:45, we got our first call for a placement!!! I couldn't believe that it was just 45 min after we signed everything that they were calling! So.... we welcomed our first foster child, "Jr." into our home/hearts/lives on Friday the 1st at 7pm. I have to keep his name anonymous on my blog, as well as pictures (I can only post pictures that don't show his face) to protect his privacy.
He is a wonderful little boy. The first few nights were just exhausting, but that was to be expected. He needed to figure out where he was and what was going on before he could just relax and sleep! Last night was the first night we were able to just put him in bed and he went to sleep. This was by 8:30pm people!!! I think the Tylenol I gave him for his teeth helped. Poor thing is a little drool monster! He chews on everything.
His personality is really happy, smiley, and overall he just really goes with the flow.
We have really enjoyed having him. I can't talk about his case, but we go to court the beginning of September and I think we will find out more about what's going on.
His case worker is a bit of a "tard" and seems to not know much about things.
We put in our request to take him to South Padre with us at the end of the month. That's when Clint's big race is. Should be interesting traveling with "Jr.".
I will keep you posted on our progress! I'm such an organized person and the past few days have sent me into an unorganized period.....so I'm really working to get things back to "normal" for all of us.
