Sick Hubby!

My poor, poor husband! Early Wednesday morning (around 3am) Clint started to get a really bad pain in his stomach/side. When I got up at 6:45, he had been up... very sick. I insisted that we go to the doctor (because as you all know we went through this 2 years ago and were just sent home). I wasn't going to leave until they fixed it this time.
Well, I got my wish. He had to have his appendix out Wednesday afternoon. He had to spend the night, but we were home by 12pm yesterday (Thurs). He is feeling much better today, and even driving. I'm so thankful that his surgery and his recovery thus far has been very smooth!

He has been calling me the "Nazi Nurse" because I am following the doctors orders! Oh well.
:)

Aren't we looking just fabulous?

Sailing my first race!

So being the compromising wife that I am, I agreed to go with Clint out on the catamaran last Tuesday. It just so happened that they were having a race that night at Lake Hefner. The wind was strong and I had never been on the boat before, let alone sail it with him.

It was fun (at first) and then the wind kicked up, and by the last time around the buoy's I was ready to pack it in! We never tipped it (not sure how that worked out), but we came very close!

Clint was very sweet and made sure I did go overboard!
Thanks honey!

OnePrayer Micro-Mission

Life Church has been doing a series called OnePrayer. This weekend we took part in a micro-mission at the Oak Grove Apartments and Rockwood Elementary.

Laynie and Blake came with us and were great! Laynie helped in the kids area. She did face painting and did art projects with the local kids. Blake was with us and he played games with the kids. Clint and I worked on the school. We repaired the basketball goals and cleaned up the court. It was overgrown with grass. It really wasn't even a court. Some of the teachers and the principal of the school were there and were just speechless. They said that so many churches offer to come and do things but never follow thru.

It was a great experience. We go back toward the end of July.
Here are some pictures of the day.

Laynie, smiling at 6:30am!
What a trooper!

Clint, sporting the purple bandana (that was for the leaders). The kids thought he looked silly! I couldn't disagree!

Clint managing the kids on the giant "slip-n-slide". The fire department was there spraying all the kids. They had so much fun running through the water!

Blake joined in on the water slide fun!

An ice cream truck came with FREE ice cream for all the resident kids. The line was SO long! It was cute to hear all the kids scream from excitment!

Our house

Ok, there have been many requests to see the "finished", moved in pictures of our house.

So here ya go!

Foster Care Update!

We are getting very close to fostering a child. Our home study was completed on Tuesday and will be turned over to DHS this week. I believe we are waiting on our fingerprints to come back, and a walk-through to be done on Ruth and Jimmy's house since they will the be "alternative" caregivers. That's if our foster child needs a babysitter etc..
This is the email I received today from our case worker.

..Yahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!it is almost time to celebrate. Ok, no fingerprints back yet, I just checked. Keep your fingers crossed. Now it still may take one week or so..to get your home study over to us. But, you are really really close. ..Jayme
