A Girl After My Own Heart

Laynie is in a home-ech class again this year. They have started to learn how to cook, to sew, etc... She came home Monday and wanted to sew something.

I suggested she make the letter 'L' since it has good straight lines to learn from. She was very good at sewing and we enjoyed the bonding time together!

Here's Laynie with her letter 'L'.

Halloween Recap 2009

Halloween was pretty low-key this year! We had no little ones to take trick-or-treating, so Clint and I stayed home and handed out candy. Laynie and Blake were with their Mom this year, so we were happy to have them stop by for some pics and candy! Here's Laynie as our "hippie" and Blake as the scary "skeleton man". Notice our pretty red doors? Clint finished them and I think they look super fabulous! Here's little Gooch... dressed as a bumble bee! He was SUCH a good sport about it all.

Clint and our friend Jeff decided to make a scary man with a mask we already had. They build him with a speaker inside so that when kids came to our house, Clint spoke through the microphone and scared them. Poor unsuspecting kids!

Here he is hanging in our tree. Clint had him hoisted up and connected to a pulley on our deck upstairs. When the kids came up the walkway, Clint would let him go!
I got crafty with my fake pumpkins from Michaels. I meant to do this a few weeks ago when I bought them, but I guess life got in the way! So... here's the first white pumpkin. I printed out a big 'E' on my computer and then cut it out and traced around it on my pumpkin with a pencil.

I painted it with craft paint and then added some fun polka-dots.

The orange ones got a few polka-dots too.

You can see that I took the other white pumpkin and stenciled "Boo" on it. FUN, FUN!
