My first sewing experience

Last night I put my new sewing machine to work! I made this pillow, fringe and all! It was pretty hard because it seemed that no matter how many times I pinned something, it was still coming out crooked!! That's what took the longest... keeping everything straight! It was pretty cool to see the product of my labor... and it even looked decent!

Enough Rain!

This morning on my way to work I had to turn around and go a different direction because of the water over the road! Last night it rained forever, and obviously it rained a lot.

My new hobby!

Last night I went and bought a new sewing machine. I had to go get some practice fabric... and I made a pillow out of it. My goal is to make the pillows for our couch, some pillows for Laynie's bed, and some curtains for her room. We'll see how far I get with all of that. So far, so good.

It is pretty easy to use, but looking at the patterns for some fancy pillows was sure intimidating!

House Update

We took the kids by the house yesterday. They were so excited to see all the progress! We decided to rock the fireplace all the way to the ceiling and use the rock as our mantle too. It's really looking great! In the other picture, Blake is posing in his room. It was SO cute to see how excited they both were when they went upstairs! Blake was even screaming excitedly about his light switch box. It was so funny.
The bottom picture is Laynie right inside the front door in front of the water "feature". I'm excited to see how it turns out.

July 4th

We had a great 4th of July! We went swimming and had a cookout at Clint's parents house. The kids were excited about shooting off fireworks, so we went to Stephanie's house and they had a blast doing it. We watched a great fireworks show at UCO too.

Bogie enjoying the sun

Bogie is so cute! Anytime there is sunshine on the ground he finds it and plops down. It doesn't matter what he's doing (which is normally running around) he will just stop and lay down in the sun. Maybe all dogs do this, but I just think it's so cute!

House update

We went out and check on the house on Sunday. The rock layers were out there working on the fireplace and the fountain in the entry. They are done with the outside rock and it turned out really nice. The last picture is the ledge stone that is going to be our fountain with a little "pond" at the bottom. They are going to start insulating this week and hopefully be sheet rocking next week. The rain is supposed to stop by the 4th! Thank goodness!
