Bring on the Bricks!

They started bricking the house yesterday! It was so cool to see the brick go on. When it was sitting in the front yard in one big pile, it was really hard to see what it looked like. I was a bit nervous that it was not going to be what I was expecting, but it looks great.
The plumbers are all done and the electricians are working hard. They delivered our living room and screen porch fireplaces yesterday. Clint says I need to pick out rock this week. I think I have been doing pretty good at the "picking out" part. Sometimes it's overwhelming, but for the most part it's been okay (so far).

Everybody Polka!

On Saturday we went to see Bobbie and Doddie in Yukon at the Czech Hall for the 1st Annual button accordion festival. It was pretty cute. There were actually old people there from all over! Even Alaska! The kids thought the accordion was pretty cool, but hard to play! I polka danced with Doddie some, he still has some moves!

Blake's first electric guitar!

I bought Blake an electric guitar on Ebay and we gave it to him last night. He was SO excited! I should have started video taping him earlier... because he was screaming with excitement!!







He could not stop talking about it! Clint, being the genius that he is, grabbed the headphones! Blake played his guitar the rest of the evening! I would say it was a GREAT purchase!

House Update

They started loading the shingles on the roof today. I'm so happy that the weather has been cooperating with us! The roof will be done in just a couple of days!! The bottom picture is of our living room ceiling. The wood is cedar and we may stain it or keep it natural. It is very fragrant in there from the cedar! They did a great job with it!

Speghetti Night

Last night we had speghetti for dinner. Clint made a comment a few nights ago about eating with our hands. He was kidding, but I thought the kids would think it was fun to eat speghetti with their hands! Blake said it was the "best day ever in his life". It was so funny! They were a mess!

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was really special!! Laynie and Blake took me to "Muffins for Moms" at their school on Friday. We got to eat breakfast together and then we visited their classrooms for some reading time. Laynie had made me a cute flower pot and a really sweet card. Saturday they surprised me with a new bike! It's exactly the one I wanted last Spring. They were so excited to go on a bike ride with me. It was a great Mother's Day present!

Moving Along

This is looking toward our house from the back yard! We went by there on Saturday and the roof is all decked and the windows are in. It's really moving along great despite the constant rain we have had!
